A NEW LOOK FOR THE MASTERCHEF SET
Following on from our many successful installations for prime-time television shows such as Great British Menu, Fred Sirieix’s Million Pound Menu and Gordon Ramsay’s Next Level Chef, Greens were extremely pleased to be invited to work with the MasterChef team. We were tasked with supplying both the new on-set kitchens and the back-of-house facilities for the show’s refreshed series, filmed at its newly purpose-built studios in Birmingham. At this stage, only The Great British Bake Off eludes us from completing something of a monopoly on prime-time cookery shows.
Celebrating 26 years since it first aired in the UK, the new kitchens will help showcase the talents of many aspiring and professional chefs, many of whom already practise their craft in Greens Kitchens up and down the country.

MANUFACTURING 13 IDENTICAL KITCHEN SETS
Designing, manufacturing, delivering and installing 13 on-set kitchens was more challenging than it might first appear. Each kitchen had to be identical down to the millimetre, requiring ultra-accurate manufacturing processes with minimal tolerance. The units needed to be practical for use by both amateur and professional chefs, while also being modern and visually appealing for many years of filming to come. In addition, the kitchens were required to feature subtle, concealed, variable-colour LED backlighting, designed to enhance the set visually without interfering with the camera crew.
We can’t wait to see the new set in action.
